We know we aren’t the only scuba-related project out there (we have been following projects like Infinite Scuba and Shipwreck Discovery, and we just saw the announcement of Nicolas Roos’ mobile Flappy Diver on the Scuba Divers Uncensored group on Facebook) – and that is a good thing!
While we are considering a future project that brings the gameplay of Dive Buddies to VR and consoles in a more immersive and visually stunning way, our first project brings the essence of diving to life in a new way through a third-person viewpoint and a cozy interactive adventure focused on underwater exploration and discovery.
A central tenet of our vision is building a strong community from the start, sharing our progress over the coming months, and giving you a place (hint: Discord) to share your adventures. We are going to try something different from what we see in many game development cycles: we are actively seeking open feedback throughout this project – even before going to alpha testing.
This is the first of what we hope to be a series of micro-polls to gauge interest and preference to help shape development towards a better product. Between dealing with scope creep and other limitations, we can’t promise to include everything people request – but we can promise to listen and do our best to make this an engaging and enjoyable game.
